Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), a Schedule ‘A’-Mini Ratna, Category – 1 Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) is a statutory body which was established under ‘The Warehousing Corporations Act, 1962’. Its aim is to provide
reliable, cost-effective, value-added, integrated warehousing and logistics solutions in a socially responsible and environment friendly manner.
+-++-The authorized capital and total paid-up capital of CWC are Rs.100 crore and Rs.68.02 crore respectively.
The turnover for the year 2021-22 is Rs.2232.20 crore as compared to Rs. 2168.13 Crore in the previous year. Profit Before Tax for the year 2021-22 is Rs. 589.73 crore as against Rs. 565.55 crore in the previous year.
The Profit after Tax for the year 2021-22 is Rs. 450.56 crore as against Rs. 438.17 Crore in the previous year.
Corporation has paid total Dividend of Rs. 180.97 crore during the year 2021-22 to its shareholders consisting of interim dividend of Rs. 127.12 crore for the year 2021-22 and final dividend of Rs. 15.91 crore (FY
2020-21), Rs.6.80 crore (FY 2019-20) and an additional dividend of Rs.31.14 crore for FY 2015-16 as approved by the Board. During the year total amount of Rs.99.63 crore was paid to the Government of India for these financial years.
Central Railside Warehousing Corporation (CRWC) and CWC have executed a business transfer agreement dated October 28, 2022 ("BTA”) whereby Business Undertaking has been transferred to CWC with effect from October
31, 2022
As a premier Warehousing Agency, CWC was operating 458 (With 20 RWC warehouses) warehouses as on 31.12.2022 with a total operational storage capacity of 106.49 lakh MT (with RWC 2.58 lakh MT capacity) including 39 Custom
Bonded Warehouses, 21 Container Freight Stations (CFSs)/ Inland Clearance Depots (ICDs), 1 Air Cargo Complexes (ACCs) and 1 Temperature Controlled Warehouses, 1 Integrated Check Posts (ICPs). CWC also provides services in the area of clearing & forwarding,
handling & transportation, disinfestation, fumigation etc. It also offers consultancy services/ training to different agencies for construction of warehousing infrastructure.
CWC has 19 State Warehousing Corporations (SWCs) as its associates. Central Warehousing Corporation is 50% shareholder in the equity capital of the SWCs. The total investment of CWC in SWCs is Rs. 61.79 Crore. As
on 01.12.2022, the SWCs were operating 2170 warehouses with a total storage capacity of 511.55 lakh MT (including 26.89 lakh MT management capacity).

CENTRAL RAILSIDE WAREHOUSE COMPANY LIMITED (CRWC)
Central Railside Warehouse Company Limited (CRWC) is a Mini-Ratna, Category-II, Public Sector Enterprise incorporated on 10.07.2007 under the Companies Act, 1956. CRWC has also been registered as
Medium Scale Enterprise under MSME Act 2006 in 2019. The company constructs and manages Railside Warehouse Complexes across India under MoU with Ministry of Railways, Government of India.
The authorized and paid-up capital of CRWC is Rs.150 crore and Rs.40.56 crore respectively. The entire paid-up share capital is currently held by the Central Warehousing Corporation.
In June 2021, Cabinet has approved merger of CRWC with CWC and the same has been implemented by way of transfer all assets & liabilities through slump sale. The Business Division of the Company
has been transferred to Central Warehousing Corporation by Slump Sale transaction vide Business Transfer Agreement dated 28.10.2022. After the slum sale, a separate RWC division has been created in CWC.
RWC division has 20 railside warehouse complexes with a total operational capacity of 3.55 Lakh MT. and rate capacity of 2.59 Lakh MT. Three more railside warehouse complexes with capacity of 29
thousand MT are under construction, likely to be completed in 2023.
Ministry of Railways vide its letter No. 2012/TC(FM)/23/09 dated 08.04.2022 has approved the following new locations for the development of Railside Warehouse Complexes on which the work of construction
of warehouse/good-shed has commenced/under consideration.
(i) Nandganj, Varanasi, UP
(ii) Chariali, Assam
(iii) Jagannathpur, Orissa
(iv) Cuttack, Orissa
(v) Changda Dam, West Bengal
(vii) Hasimara, West Bengal
(vii) Jirania, Tripura and
In addition, another MoU with KRCL has been signed on 04.03.2022 to meet the logistics requirement of its customers and provide better services at various Railway Stations/Goodshed as well as other
locations (within the Goodshed/nearby area). The contract was signed for development and maintenance of Goodshed and Railside Warehouse Complexes (RWCs) on land owned and controlled by KRCL.
Under KRCL, the work of construction of warehouse/good-shed is started/under consideration/has commenced at the following 10 places. The list of places is as follows:
(i) Chiplun, Maharashtra
(ii) Ratnagiri, Maharashtra,
(iii) Zarap, Maharashtra
(iv) Khed, Maharashtra
(v) Verna, Goa
(vi) Karwar, Karnataka
(vii) Udupi, Karnataka
(viii) Thokur, Karnataka
(ix) Surathkal, Karnataka
(x) Indapur, Maharashtra
RWC had also signed MOU with APAMB, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh for setting up of FARM GATE Logistics in Arunachal Pradesh in three Districts of Arunachal Pradesh viz.Lower Subansiri, Changlang and
Lohit. RWC has received ₹ 1.50 Crore from APAMB towards capital investment for the implementation of the project. The project is under implementation.
